Thuraya’s TCP Accelerator is a value-added service for Thuraya IP customers, further enhancing the performance of the IP unit by increasing broadband throughputs by up to 80%. This enables larger files to be transmitted and received more quickly, boosting productivity and also delivering cost benefits by minimizing your streaming IP line connection time.

You will achieve optimal performance of your TCP Accelerator with Thuraya IP firmware version 1.0.6.5 or greater.

This enhanced broadband performance for data transfer is achieved through a proxy connection. Optimizing TCP performance across both terrestrial internet and satellite data links, Thuraya’s TCP Accelerator uses data compression and TCP acceleration, along with HTTP, FTP and POP3 enhancements, to boost data transfer rates.
